Miracle Baits sponsor Tyram Hall Fishery
Miracle Baits has sponsored Tyram Hall Fishery, the fishery is set to become a major player in the area and will be a place that I will frequently visit. The fishery has 2 main match lakes and also a specimen lake, a cafe on site and also sells a full range of Miracle Baits products. Open matches are held on Thursdays and weekends but booking on is advisable because it has become very popular.
You can contact the fishery on 01302 840886 or visit the web site http://www.tyramfisheries.co.uk

Chris Smith gets domesticated
Well for all the guys who know Chris Smith from Chesterfield I have some very disturbing news. I had a phone call from Tony Brown telling me that Chris had been asked to attend a match that all the lads were fishing, but he declined. The reason for declining was he was making jam that Sunday with his girlfriend, and yes I said jam. Since meeting this lovely girl Chris has stopped drinking, taken up gardening, cooking, baking, and I believe he is even doing house work and washing pots etc. It just goes to show that there was a house husband trapped inside a beer swilling, pole yielding, physically challenged, foul mouthed, nice person.
It just goes to show that you never really know a person until they meet a member of the opposite sex, I understand this is his first encounter, maybe he will get bored and turn back to fishing, we will see.

R.I.P Pete Smith
It is with great regret I have to announce the sad departure of a good friend Pete Smith. Pete had been suffering from cancer for quite a while, but his strong will gave him the strength to carry on fishing till the end.
Pete was such a nice person who never had a wrong word for anyone and even in the later stages of his illness carried on fishing and enjoyed what little time he had. I will miss Pete and so will all the guys who fish at Bain Valley Fishery who enjoyed his company.
We will remember Pete and think of him every time we fish at Bain knowing that his determination to carry on regardless should be an inspiration to us all.
Rest in peace my friend.
Pete Smith a true gentleman

When I managed to get my hands on this pole for the first time I was utterly astounded by the quality and feel of the pole. Yes I have had some top of the range poles before from many manufacturers but this was something else. I could not believe just how stiff and light it was and to find out it's price was more than a surprise I can tell you. I have had poles twice the price of this one and they could not hold a candle to it in any respect.
By the time I received my pole I was eager to take it out on the bank, I was up late elasticating it ready for the first winter league match at Bain Valley. The pole is more than capable of handling 16+ elastics while on the other end of the scale is the finest silver fish pole I have ever picked up and responsive enough to use number 2's and 26 hooks.
One other good thing about the Shock Core poles is the sections from the lower graded poles in the range will interchange with these XK55's, this makes chopping and changing so easy. Imagine you are fishing a lake where there are many smaller stockies but some really big fish and also snags and thick reed beds. You may set your stall out to catch the stockies but be beefed up for the bigger fish, elastics, line, hooks etc. All of a sudden the big fish turn up and they are screaming into the thick reed beds and snagging you up. Now if you started off fishing like this you would use a crunching pole that you could drag those lumps away from the reeds, but as the day progressed it's the time to change. The top kits are all geared up for this kind of fishing so you could just pull out the XM10 an excellent but cheap bagging pole put the top kits you are using straight on and carry on fishing with 100% confidence. You can't do that with many other branded poles, but that's the way Middy work, think about the angler 1st and build up a good reputation.
Well after using my pole a few times I can honestly say that it's a must have pole with a price bracket that will make it the best selling pole out there. You really must get into a shop and pick one up don't just take my word for it, pick it up and you WILL want one. I suggest that you also get the XM10 as well, it still works out much cheaper than the best of the rest.

Well after a couple of months testing the pole, I am very impressed at the strength, stiffness, and overall performance of the pole. I have used it on the big fish in the margins and it tackled these with ease, at no point did I feel that it was not up to the job. I have gained confidence in the pole which is a must, its no good using a pole that you are scared to break or damage. I have given it some stick, and really put it through its paces and to this end I would recommend it to anyone and at £1200 its a real steal.
